Captain Tracey
is a USCG licensed Master Mariner and certified ASA instructor for all courses taught at the Tracey School. He also happens to be the namesake for our little sailing fun-house.
"I've been sailing longer than I care to remember." is his standard response when asked, but almost three decades spent on the water are an asset in our business.
"Experience is the best teacher- has been the Tracey School modus-operandi since day one. Learn by doing. In conjunction with a proven structured curriculum, good instructors and equipment, mixed in with some fun, sailing can be easy, safe and entertaining. As it should be! I think we get it right most of the time and are fortunate to have such a competent staff."
Along with owning and overseeing the Tracey School, the captain also operates the Kathleen D and Idylwild Sailing Charter Catamarans in New Jersey and Florida. He and his wife Kathleen, along with two cats, live in both states as they chase the "Endless Summer" sailing seasons up and down the east coast of America.
