After spending most of three years searching for a diverse and comfortable sailing location in Florida we have settled on our permanent Florida base for charters on Anna Maria Island, the Manatee River and Tampa Bay in Florida.

The beautiful Manatee River and Anna Maria Sound are some of the oldest settled locales in Florida. Fine homes and estates line the historic waterway's as our spacious and comfortable cat glides over these protected waters leading onto Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.
Historic Desoto point and the Desoto National Memorial lie at the rivers entrance and was once the staging area for Hernando de Soto's mission of discovery of the southeastern US.
The Sunshine Skyway Bridge and the dome of Tropicana Field and downtown St. Petersburg glisten in the distance. The endless horizon of the Gulf and spectacular sunsets lie off in the distance. Unspoiled Anna Maria Island, Egmont Key and Fort DeSoto Park define the boundaries of the lower half of Tampa Bay. All an easy sail from our bases.
It took awhile for us to discover this area, but from the water it is obvious why Desoto choose this rich location to establish his base. Todays mixture of natural and man-made attractions provide relaxation, fine dining, romantic sunsets, comfortable and safe sailing, lovely anchorages, beaches and exciting urban landscapes to explore.

Come see them all from a new perspective: out on the water in the heart of the "Sun Coast"!

Egmont Key Island Adventure!
6+ hours day trip to Egmont Key from Twin Dolphin. Includes Sailing, Swimming/Snorkeling, Shelling and Lunch!
10am - 4pm.
Lunch, refreshments & snorkeling equipment are included. Free parking.
Price per person- Adult-$89 / Child- $69 (includes 6.5% FL Tax)
The place:
Egmont Key is located at the mouth of Tampa Bay between Anna Maria Island to the south and Ft. DeSoto park to the north.
Located on the island is historic Fort Dade, surrounded by beautiful beaches on both the bay and Gulf sides as well as Egmont Lighthouse.
Today the island is inhabited by thousands birds, hundreds of turtles, a few Park Rangers and the Tampa Bay Pilots Association.
For most of the last century just to the south of Egmont there used to be another isolated island (Passage Key) which was the first piece of land ever preserved by the federal government for wildlife, (specifically as a bird sactuary) by Teddy Roosevelt.
Today Passage Key remains only as a submerged sand bar. The bird sanctuary was moved to the south end of Egmont Key in the 1970's, where it remains as home to tens of thousands of birds.

The trip:
We depart our docks at 10am for a run out to and across Tampa Bay past the bird sanctuary and on to the north end of the island. The boat comes in close to the beach where you can swim, snorkel or walk to shore and spend a few hours exploring and shelling (bring your sun block). Lunch is served aboard or if you prefer you can carry your lunch ashore.  We sail back to the dock by approximately 4pm.
We serve Jersey Mikes subs, wraps and salad for lunch. Complimentary water, soda, & ice are included. BYOB beer and wine. No hard liquor please.
Please let us know in advance if you have any food allergies or require vegetarian meals.
(Please note we need a total of 6 persons to run a trip to Egmont Key. If we do not have 6 guaranteed reservations by 9am on any scheduled day the trip may be cancelled.)
